To be fair to De Courcey/nookie bear/Tames, I once saw him in fluid and he walked in with a camera and started asking questions to random NUFC fans. Now I'm not exactly an avid watcher of Tyne Tees or look north but thought he'd retired years ago. Anyway, I was full of blooter and grabbed a hold of him and said something along the lines of how he always had a massive hard on for Bernie Slaven and his commentary always said shit like 'The Holgate/Fulwell/Gallowgate absolutely erupts' whilst he was obviously in the studio editing it? He looked a bit uncomfortable to put it mildly and fucked off pretty sharpish. Anyway, maybe he was on the lookout for similar encounters?3 points

But what I meant was he didn’t look worried. He looked like he was hoping someone would recognise him2 points

I like the story (possibly apocryphal) about when he went for the Ireland job. Supposedly he saw it as part time / semi-retirement meaning he could go fishing etc. When the FAI approached him and asked about wages he’s meant to have said something along the lines of “I’m not bothered, just give me what Eoin Hand was on”. When they told him what his predecessor earned he’s meant to have said “I want a canny bit more than that”.2 points

I’ve voted labour all my adult life (bar a libdem protest vote post-Iraq) and still will but I’m not really bothered any more. It’s apathy about people too stupid to see beyond their own prejudices. I know they’ve been targeted by neo-liberals and have been made to believe all these bogeymen (lefties, immigrants, the metropolitan elite etc) are the reason for their problems but what’s the point of trying to help people so easily duped who hate you for it anyway. Let them reap what they sow for once and enjoy their ‘freedom’ after Nissan et al fuck off and the alternative is picking vegetables and working in Amazon warehouses. Perhaps then it’ll dawn on them what they’ve done. If they're lucky enough to have a job2 points

Kind of related but I remember being in the Broad Chare with Tooj a while back when Roger Thames came in with (presumably) his wife. He kept looking round as if to see if anyone had clocked him (Roger not Tooj). I found it quite funny as I would imagine most people didn’t and those that did wouldn’t give a fuck1 point

Not sure of the season but pretty sure it was White's record. My mate went on a chartered plane to Southampton a few years ago organised by Harrison, said he was good crack and a bit of a character. Went from intentions of going to take the piss about his commentary skills back in the day to singing his praises by the time he got back.1 point

No, you're right, it was that relegation fight year - I think he equalled it and it was 7 games. The record was later broken by Sir Les in 95.1 point

Ask her where she learned the word "sheeple" from. Sounds a lot like mind control to me.1 point

Fucking hell Everytime one of these loons pops their head up I’m amazed they exist. A lass on my Facebook reckons, Bill Gates made Covid in a Chinese lab to profit from the vaccine. Same bloke who donated billions of his personal wealth to wipe out polio1 point

Started the day with an argument with my sister who says she won't be wearing a mask because it's all about "control" and making us "sheeple". That got the response it deserved and I'm pretty sure she's now not speaking to me.1 point

Goddard wasn't playing for us when Charlton managed us? I take your point about his style when you had Waddle and Beardsley playing, he wasn't really for us and followed a popular manager which didn't help. Anyway, was more on about his character overall than his NUFC record when as has been mentioned he was trying to be as part time as he could? It didn't take much for him to chuck it when it comes down to it.1 point

None of the shit has really the fan yet though. Although I’m pretty much at the point now where I’ve stopped giving a fuck about people who continually vote against their own interests. Fuck the fucking lot of them.1 point

It should be embarrassing that the man is paid to write about Newcastle United and yet hasn’t bothered to watch our last two matches.1 point

Started watching Gemini Man last night as the wife thinks Will Smith is great. She's even banned herself from picking films it was that shite. Got turned off quickly. Worst film I've seen in years.1 point
