Courtesy of @JawD giving me a hotel room where the players were staying during Stevie Harper’s testimonial - a friend an I, both dressed quite smartly, walked straight into the private section of the hotel where the AC Milan players were eating. We sat down in the middle of them and enjoyed a free bar, a free meal and then got our pictures taken with the players. Luckily my friend speaks fluent Italian, I was fucking mortal. Nobody said anything5 points

Or alternatively 1 - She missed it completely. In which case it’s a harsh lesson about being careful what you share publicly when in a position of power 2 - She didn’t miss it, but, stupidly/naively, didn’t think it was an issue so shared it anyway. Either way, RLB is at fault.4 points

They hired a hotel tbf. Still get them reported for not following the social distancing, get the title stripped.4 points

If you head on over to NUFC.COM they have a list of shirts for sale donated by fans. The proceeds go to the foodbank, which I’m sure you’re aware, is desperate for funds after losing match day income. Newcastle West End food bank is the largest in the country & it distributes over 25 tons of food per month to those most in need. The situation was fairly dire before Covid so you can imagine what it’s like now. Some shirts are signed, some are matchworn Anyway they’ve got a bunch of really great shirts up for auction, so if you want something special give it a look!2 points

I said hello to Pav in Prague airport a few months before he died. Wish I’d asked him for a picture. He definitely would have said yes, unlike some other bastards I know2 points

Sounds like Starmer got a lecture from Burgon and Corbyn this afternoon. Bet he came off that call feeling thicker than when he went on it.2 points

If you can point out where I suggested that the Israeli military have a technique that involves kneeling on anyone's neck, I'll be impressed.2 points

By my reckoning they’ve won 2 European Cups, 3 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, 1 Uefa Cup and 1World Club Cup plus various super cups / charity shields etc in that time2 points

I fully cannot believe you’re watching BT Sport, of all the channels, immediately after this. I’m amazed they’re not just broadcasting McManaman pulling the head off it while singing along to You’ll Never Walk Alone.2 points

Starmer’s conduct since becoming leader, and this in particular, give me a sliver of shiny hope in the murky slick of matte shit that’s UK politics. He’s given Johnson, The Tory party, and Corbyn and the Labour Party, a lesson in what it should mean to be a politician and a leader. PMQs are becoming ever more satisfying as he baits the Skinbag juuust enough for him to lose his blob and take the bait, then he hooks the fucker like Robson Green on a coke-fuelled extreme fishing trip. Every time. This RLB business is another example of his consummate leadership- sees the problem, executes the solution, dusts himself down, “fuck you-what’s next?” I knew he’d be an improvement on Corbyn, I didn’t realise how good he’d be. I hope he doesn’t fuck it up with something daft, like sending pics of him sounding his todger to Dianne Abbott or something.2 points

You're so positive and sunny that it overwhelmed my cynicism and I've filled in your damn survey. Well played. Good luck with your studies. EDIT - for anyone else considering it, it'll take you about 2 mins.1 point

I used to vaguely know Wes Saunders. Was in a pub in Boldon Colliery after a game one Saturday and I said to him pretty quiet game today Wes. He pulled his shirt up and he looked like hed been beaten with a club. Same with his legs. It was brutal1 point

He's on about pulling federal funding for testing as well. Like he really genuinely seems to think that if you don't test, it stops being there. He's so feeble minded. The Republican Party has so much to answer for for facilitating his insanity.1 point

You are literally spouting the xenophobic trash the Labour party are trying to stamp out. To suggest the Israeli military have a restraining technique of kneeling on Palestinians necks shows you have no clue of the spot light they are under on a daily basis.1 point

He’s right too- we’ll never get in on a “lefty” manifesto like Jezza tried. It’s too much for the Sun readers to take in one go Gain power with a “reasonable” opposition to the Far Right clusterfuck, then consolidate your position in power. Once that’s been done, you can start easing in more left-wing policy, but it’ll only ever work in stages.1 point

My problem is I’m in a bubble or “echo chamber” of far left labour supporters. Now whilst I probably “identify” as far left I have a friend who is a councillor who’s won numerous elections & knows the political system inside out, every nuance. So every now and then he guides me about how unelectable we're becoming. He’s a big Starmer man, naturally. I worked hard for fuck all, every time. It’s a long time. Just look at the graph detailing families visiting foodbanks & how it has risen, constantly. Fuck it. I want a labour government at any costs at the moment. The argument to move further left will be a lot stronger when we’re in government & suddenly children don’t have to rely on foodbanks not to be malnourished.1 point

If you're a player who's watched their Netflix show, why would you want to go there if you had a viable alternative, especially at a club in a higher position with more recent PL experience? That's it! The 'Friendly cup' games against Norwich are cancelled!1 point

I don't have a mask but I've definitely cut back on the number of lasses I open-mouth kiss at the supermarket.1 point

If they were in the same division a lot of players would go for Norwich. Also completely misses the point that money is a massive motivating factor, and therefore any club able to pay higher wages automatically becomes a more attractive option for virtually every player. On top of that they have a fucking terrible reputation as a club within the game1 point

It's hard to overstate how badly the virus is being handled here. We have states outright lying about their numbers and falsely attributing C19 deaths to other illnesses. Then, in the honest states, we have entire swathes of the population that believe some combination of three extremely dangerous myths: a) it was never real in the first place and was a Chinese/Democrat/whoever the fuck conspiracy; b) it is real but no more harmful than the common cold, and has been hugely blown out of proportion by a Chinese/Democrat/whoever the fuck media to bring Trump down; c) it actually is real and harmful, but it's now "over", so there's no need to continue wearing PPE or maintaining social distancing. That's quite apart from the lunatics who claim that governors' lawful orders are tyranny and violations of the Constitution (funny how these used to be the states' rights people, but as soon as the states start doing something they don't like, they become huge proponents of federal overrreach, suggesting Trump should have governors and mayors arrested) and that masks and stay-at-home orders violate the Constitution. Then we have the enormous segment of the population that is just fucking stupid, and recognizes COVID as a deadly disease that we need to protect ourselves from, but thinks it can't happen to them/they won't get it on a run to the store/only old people get it/I don't have any symptoms so I must be good. I was at the grocery store in rural PA, where I've been for most of the past 4 months, and the amount of people I saw unmasked and just doing the usual shit would boggle your mind. There are 17 (total, not necessarily active) documented cases of COVID in this county, and it's not too likely you'll encounter one of the people who has had it or currently has it. But if one of them does start spreading it around, it's going to move like wildfire, and that's what's already happening in the South and Southwest. Trump rallies and megachurch reopenings are sure to help it along as well. I think the EU would do well to put us on no-fly or quarantine lists, because this shit ain't ending here any time soon. We'll still be dealing with it well into the fall.1 point
