  11. Not guessing. There are ongoing ONS antigen surveys which gives rise to R and prevalence estimates. Theres an algorithm these values are fed into to establish the national risk level, although I don't think that was published (it should be). I think this is entirely the correct way to proceed. The problem is in the last few weeks the politicians have vetoed the scientists and de facto reduced the alert level anyway, when the sums didn't add up.That is extremely dangerous. Will they reverse the level if R and prevalence increases? I very much doubt it. Make no mistake, Johnson's handling of the situation is fucking appalling , as international comparisons testify.

  12. I know. But it’s just those who died having tested positive. Even the ONS figures are significantly higher. That takes into account those where COVID is mentioned on the death certificate. The excess deaths, ie the figure above the expected deaths is quite a lot higher again at over 63,000. Not trying to have a go at you, I just think the more people talking about those utterly shameful figures the better.

  25. Nah I believe that's a collectible card game - which involves buying different cards for actual real money. I'm not up for that. Mine is all app based on a tablet, where you just play against the computer opponent. There's less dandruff/skin tags involved that way.

  26. No he doesn't, dicksplash! Although he probably would cos he's ice fucking cool. When you start watching films where the lead wears his underpants underneath his trousers, and reading books without pictures, then you can feel free to come at the King of the Deckbuilders! UNTIL THEN YOU KEEP IT ZIPPED! PS Terraforming Mars is my latest summer jam. What a game.

  27. What’s your basis for fearing it will be rejected? It's a strange one. When I look at this deal in a cold-blooded, logical fashion, I am certain that the decision to approve this deal was made by the Premier League long ago. This is because the legal basis to block the deal seems infinitely flimsy at best and non-existent at worst, and the benefits of this deal to the Premier League and English football infinitely outweigh the downsides. Richard Masters has been a sales and marketing guy within the Premier League for many years, so there is no-one better placed than he to understand the benefits of foreign investment into the Premier League. Some time ago, I considered that between the end of this week to next week would be when the deal was officially approved. This is because from a PR management viewpoint the media fallout of the announcement had to be managed, and the best place for this is buried at the beginning of Project Restart, avoiding it being fed any additional momentum by the WTO ruling occurring after its announcement, and burning out before the summer transfer window. The actions of beIN Sports this week have reasserted this thinking; of course as major stakeholders, the Premier League will have been treating beIN Sports extremely courteously during this takeover and giving them gracious thank yous every time they volunteered their generous help with the investigation. beIN's startling upscaling of aggression in the past week is a Qatari trademark indication that things are not going their way at all however. Paying for a QC's report backing their view to be the sent to the Premier League epitomises this, and gives an indication as to what the Premier League may have hinted to beIN about their own thinking for the legal basis of blocking the deal. That is my logical viewpoint, but the paranoia that keeps nagging me is that we are in particularly emotional times. Will Richard Masters and co. find the calling of the media-created "People's Champion" option irresistible - reject the deal, ignore the long-term drawbacks, receive the temporary faux-adulation of beIN, Fifa, Uefa, rival league associations, the British media et al.? I seriously doubt the Premier League are so stupid.

  36. I really can’t see any plausible justification to delay a decision any longer. There don’t seem to be any facts that are new. Even the report of the WTO doesn’t contain anything that wasn’t already known to the PL. Not making a decision only creates further public frenzy that doesn’t help anybody. It is fair enough that Bein wants to protect its rights and business, especially having to fear losing lucrative rights to Saudi Arabia in the future, but they had their say and should seriously be told to shut up as they are not directly involved in the decision making.
