Could you imagine that turnaround. The press licking their lips that the deal may not happen, to then end up with the deal done and Nagelsmann in as manager. I see Carragher was throwing his “they have to give Bruce a chance” piece out today, I assume when Klopp leaves he’ll be excited for Bruce to get a chance there4 points

On a lighter note, being bored out me skull and having heard that fuck off massive RAF plane that went over this morning I had Flight Tracker on to see what was occurring. I noticed a private jet took off from Newcastle airport (BTW we’re talking 4 flights in or out per week at the moment). This private plane landed at Magdeburg Airport in Germany, a tiny wee place just up the road from Leipzig. Took off 35 mins later and returned to the UK. Air Taxi for Julian Nagelsmann perhaps….4 points

That Sun article is a regurgitation of the Times article today, which itself is based on the simple fact that 2 months ago the Premier League mentioned in a report that the Saudi’s pirate their games Zero new information in there to worry about3 points

I’d be absolutely delighted with Benitez or Pochettino. I appreciate that Pochettino has never won a trophy as a manager but he has managed Espanyol, Southampton and Spurs. Would you have expected him to win a trophy at any of those clubs? Arguably Spurs but, when you consider Spurs wage structure and transfer spend, they are miles behind most of the rest of the top six. Getting Spurs to the CL final is an unbeleivable achievement. I also think he comes across as being a decent bloke and he seems to get the best out of his players. We’d be lucky as fuck to get him.3 points

I genuinely don’t think the papers have any insight into this tbh. They had no clue about the deal at all until the Company House information was public, now they are claiming to know exactly what the PL are thinking? It’s likely just the Sun jumping on the fact it’s seemingly taking a while (seemingly as it’s so public, I genuinely don’t know if this is taking longer than normal), to make this story and get a bunch of clicks. The story centers on the Saudis being on this watch list, the Sun call it a black list which is different, it also seems from what people on Twitter are saying that the UAE are also on the same watch list, and while the watch list may have occurred after the UAE bought Man City you have to seemingly prove you still meet all of the tests criteria and are compliant each year (based on an article in The Athletic). If that’s the case, if the Saudis fail this then the Man City and Sheffield United owners should face expulsion too.2 points

Well you can either continue to have them outside the tent pissing in or bring them in and get a bidding war going between them and Qatar. Part of their takeover plan will obviously be to have PL football broadcast in Saudi Arabia and they’re going to want to be the ones presenting it rather than Qatar.2 points

I just can't get my head how armed civilians can wonder around shouting and balling and it's perfectly fine yet fucking Leroy walks down the wrong street and he's in danger of being killed by the police. Fucking weird country.1 point

Was drinking a lot less in the last 10 days but fell off the wagon spectacularly last night during a zoom sesh with my brother and his kids...a cocktail made if Lidl spiced Voodoo rum, ginger beer, cider & lime. And Cornish IPA. And whisky...1 point

I also put rolled up towels in a baking tray and tip boiling water over them. Just enough so that the towels are soaked through. Then that goes in the bottom of the oven for the first 15 minutes of the bake. All the steam makes for a sexier crust.1 point

Aye, we better not get anyone who hasn't won a trophy. We don't want this recent spell of trophy success to end.1 point

I want Rafa back. But honestly wouldn’t turn my nose up at any of the people mentioned here. Our current manager is Steve Bruce1 point

Aye I don’t get people feeling bad for Bruce at all. He’s turned down the Newcastle job in the past, he took it more for the fact it was his last chance at a premier league club than he did because he’s from the region. He’s going to walk away with a few million for essentially 7 month work in a role he absolutely shouldn’t have been given.1 point

i'm actually looking forward to properly following the club - and football more broadly - again. it's been hard work paying much attention the last few years, or to give that much of a fuck. spoken like a true keegan bandwagon jumping glory supporter1 point

He didn't have the money to spend IMO. He had a good squad but wasn't able to make the sort of signings that would move them forward and the squad just became stale.1 point

I distinctly remember West Ham and Everton fans giving us shit for not putting up with Allardyce's brand of football. Sharp changed their tune when they had to endure it themselves. Same's true of Palace of Pardew.1 point
