It's funny how these managers we see through yet get castigated for doing so almost always turn out utter fucking shit elsewhere, washed up and eventually don't manage again. But they're all good enough for NUFC, though?3 points

I'm bored enough on lockdown that I've brought back the conceit where I use a random number generator to choose a cookbook then a recipe from it, which I have to make. (Only once a week, I'm not a maniac.) Three weeks in and it had been going pretty well so far, but then... Yay, a ton of spinach leaves with an occasional mushroom slice!2 points

On the daily update fatality graphs, you now see us surging ahead of EU countries, including France, Italy, and Spain. If they showed the more relevant per capita graphs, we'd be miles ahead of the USA too. It begs the question. We were told Italy and Spain's health services collapsed (in places) yet ours didn't, even in London. It is true we've always had capacity, and i think that part of it has been genuinely been handled well. So why are we now reporting the worst outcomes in the world? I know its difficult to make international comparisons, but something doesn't seem right here. Is it because our true prevalence is much worse, but we don't know because we haven't tested it? Is it because we are triaging differently?1 point

I reckon we should buy 11 players who are currently regarded as being the best in the world in their respective positions no matter what their age or cost. we should then put them on a pitch as a team and tell them to go out there and do the things they're good at. it can't fail and should be brilliant.1 point

Latest season had a bit of that with the black copper (racist) but it all ended up coming together decently. Sounds like the rapid fire, instant thrills of playing Ludo with a load of touchers has dulled your attention span.1 point

Love that this is what Edwards thinks we’d give a flying fuck about. He’s basically waiting to hear when he will have his contract paid up at this point, which would probably net him an undeserved amount close to £2m, can’t say I’ve got any sympathy tbh nor is it the horrible position to be in that Edwards seems to want to paint it as. Again, similar to the posts about Ashley should inform the fans what’s happening, why would people think he’d go out of his way to inform people or be nice . We’ve had 13 years of solid evidence the bloke is an absolute cunt.1 point

Ah man I am in my fucking element. If it wasn't for the nagging concern that I might be unemployed in a couple of months (and everyone dying), this would be the greatest period of my life since I was at uni.1 point

I’m getting a bit bored of fans of other clubs telling us how we should feel about this takeover. Yeah there are moral concerns and that, but as we have been told over and over, support the team and not the regime. When this is complete I will be on the cans, and when we win the league/cup/champions league treble, I will be on the cans and I couldn’t give a fuck what any other teams supporters could say.1 point

Be careful all those things are completely different from our takeover, for reasons none of the journalists will go into but it makes it somehow not hypocritical About the Man City takeover, I was jealous tbh as if it wasn’t for Ashley it would have likely been us. I’m of the same thoughts as Alex, that I’ve thought about the human rights issues far more with regard to our takeover, I can’t really think of discussing the background of the Abu Dhabi lot. I don’t view football as some exception, if they have the ability to freely invest elsewhere then investing in football shouldn’t be off limits. I find it hilarious that we’re now hearing people calling us a ‘community club’ and that this ruins that, did they miss the prior 13 years of some arrogant fat carpet bagger just stomping all over each and every tradition, legend, or hope for the club? They can all do one as far as I’m concerned.1 point

Manchester City fan I come in peace I think most City fans will welcome your take over much rather fight for a title with you lot than London clubs or two clubs closer to home. Some of us will be wondering what you have been saying about our take over. Are you being consistent about Middle Eastern human rights and spending huge sums ? In my view the more competition the better it is for me as spectator I had a look at your take over topic and I think you are right to expect huge investment in both the club and Newcastle its self but do not expect it to be straight forward. First off whilst FFP is going to be relaxed due to the Corona virus but in a very minor way and if City are successful at CAS or in court it could be altered or scrapped. You are also helped by the change to the rules around new owners but. We got in ahead of the start of the rules and some would claim we fiddled the figures with UEA sponsorship money (I can explain later why this is not really the case and why City will win at CAS or in court and should never have been punished first time round let alone second) (Can Saudi Arabia do the same ?) Expect to probably over pay for a lot of players who are better than what you have but not amazing and then have to get rid of them for not very much money as you move up the league remember Wayne Bridge etc at city in the early days. On the investment in Newcastle area do not expect it to be that quick City have been slow to expand the ground the Academy took a while to be built compulsory purchase of United fans company. There is still a huge amount of land to develop New Arena finally proposed but still a lot left to put forward on site of the former proposed super casino and I think elsewhere. in the city I have read that the owner has something like 300 - 400 acres of land but the land everyone talks about is the academy 80 acres plus immediately round the ground a lot will depends on what the owners want and how much land is available more land more ambitious much much slower. I am sure our owner could have had thousands of flats built round the ground in no time but he wants some sort of Disneyland entertainment education sports thing and there is public transport to consider. Do not expect any early criticism of spending or human rights to go away at least not anytime soon1 point
