I think what PL is trying to say is that it’s a load of twee bullshit that will only ring true to the kind of brain dead morons who find genuine meaning and depth in those Instagram skin-deep, validation giving platitudes. As a key worker, I’d much rather our company not be complete cunts about our pay award rather than get the applause from a bunch of arseholes who were twisting on the people they’re applauding using public transport two weeks ago. Just fucking sit down and shut the fuck up, man. Watch the telly and have an early night.3 points

The fuckin Uber Tory bitch across the road who has blanked every neighbourly gesture in the last 3 years can go fuck herself with her self appointed leader-style pot & pan combo alongside her wet fart/strawboater wearing fuckin drip of a son Looks like Gerry the recruitment consultant who's job has disappeared in the last month has done the same to his missus Liz... she was present for last week's hypocrite-fest but conspicuous by her absence tonight Everyone else in the street is a cunt too..as you can all tell am fuckin pissing lock down, it's making me really happy3 points

What's more worrying. That Trump is president of the USA, or the people of the USA made him president? I think it's the latter. Same with Johnson I guess. Unfortunately we all pay the price.3 points

Really couldn’t agree more with PaddockLad and Ayatollah Hermione. The absolute rank hypocrisy of these people would beggar belief were it not for the fact that a large majority of this country have proven to be cunts time and time again over the past three years. They’re irredeemable as far as I’m concerned and I’m almost certain that about 99% of them would still vote conservative tomorrow.2 points

I just did it with the kids. Moved in just before this thing kicked off so don't know that many neighbours yet. Anyway, a few kids my kids age out. Nice to have a bit of community spirit.2 points

Very fond memories. Was a teenager and went to the game with my dad plus my granda and uncle who were Northern Irish and over visiting us at the time so dined out on O'Neill getting a hatrick.2 points

Little bit of goods news lads regarding the son in laws ex. Apparently she responded well to dialysis this afternoon. Her body oxygen levels are back up to 65% whatever that means. She's still in a medical induced coma but hopefully there's a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel.2 points

Anyone remember this day from 1988 beating Luton 4-0 A hatrick by Michael O'Neil, a superb Gazza and "Kenny Kenny sit on the ball" taking the piss as Luton had done against us earlier in the season.1 point

With all due respect, I wouldn’t be trusting the US intelligence over the Chinese- they’re both reprehensible liars.1 point

And don't forget once you finished laughing at the Makems, you can watch the 05/06 Away game against them in that folder in the 4-4 Arsenal game thread and laugh at them a bit more.1 point

I don't think it's a coincidence that the most decentralised and marketised, ultra-capitalist countries are the ones screwing it up - a plethora of NHS trusts with no central co-ordination and genuine offers of help from either chemical companies or university and other biological labs being dismissed in lieu of bitty, mismatched spending with no thought. As others have said it's either rank icompetence, unwillingness to take central charge or a covert adherence to the herd immunity "plan". I think now we'll be lucky to be out of lockdown by September.1 point

Mentioned the decision not to involve ourselves in the EU scheme to order ventilators to my mam earlier. She told me that was the EU punishing us for refusing to prop up the poorer countries in the EU.1 point

That's what I'm finding most infuriating. The constant reference to fucking capacity as if that's the relevant indicator. You can build all the capacity you like but you're not doing the fucking testing. It's like a supermarket with empty shelves saying not to worry about the food supply as it has the capacity to feed everyone.1 point

I’m not one of those who believes that Dominic Cummings is some evil genius controlling every machine in government but the fact that public policy has been driven by a very small group of people relying on incorrect mathematical modelling and making decisions that were contrary to accepted practice does reek of his influence.1 point

I’m sounding like a stuck record but Michael Gove at the daily briefing said that there was a worldwide shortage of a necessary chemical used in the tests. The head of one of the chemical trade bodies then says there’s no shortage and offers to supply the government with whatever it needs only to be told ‘no thanks’. One of the deputy Chief Medical Officers said we’d have millions of antibody tests available to the general public within days then a few hours later we’re told that such a scenario is a long way off. It’s the extent to which they’re prepared to lie and make major life changing decisions seemingly on the hoof that is very worrying.1 point
-
Well that depends if you believe the government why they said we opted out because we are an independent nation or whether you believe the government when they said several hours later when they said they didn’t get the email about the scheme despite having acknowledged its existence and the offer for us to join several days before the deadline passed. Basically it’s jingoistic bullshit that is costing real people their lives that it wouldn’t have had the vote gone the other way in 2016. I’m not saying we could have halved the death rate if we were in the EU but it’s clear that some lives could have been saved.1 point

An enquiry which will take years, become hugely politicised, and the outcome of which no one will take any notice of anyway, having decided to tar it with their own political bias without needing to engage with the material.1 point

Yeah, looking at 4 figure daily death rate very soon. We had the lessson of Italy, did fuck all. How political choices have direct consequences on life. Tragic.1 point

TBH Football is the last thing on my mind. Levy gets a fucking £3m bonus for the football stadium being on time (despite it not) then they furlough their none playing staff but the players are still spunking massive wages. Get to fuck.1 point

It'll be instant as Corbyn is out - I think it was Easter recess that was the timing it was set around. On the purge, it sort of makes sense getting new faces in but I'd keep any old guarders if they merit it. I don't see much wrong with Long Bailey as long as she isn't leader and I'd certainly use Nandy. I think it's a shame McDonnel isn't interested.1 point

A friend's brother went to Cheltenham and is just emerging from the worst of the virus after 16 extremely unpleasant days. Absolute madness that it went ahead when we all knew what it would mean by then.0 points

Feeling really pissed off. Just found out off the son in law his ex wife who we've taken under our wing. They have 3 kids together she has one by her new partner. Essentially they're our step grandkids. Me, Mrs T & our kids have been over to their house a few times they're a really lovely family. Anyway just over 3 weeks ago she went down to London for a few days. Last Thursday she told her new partner she wasn't feeling very well & very soon collapsed. The ambulance came & she was taken to hospital. She tested positive for Covid 19 from what I can gather things deteriorated & she was put in intensive care. On Monday just gone they took her off the ventilator but had to quickly put her back on. She only has 1 kidney as she was born like that. She's in a really bad way & we're all in shock. Normally we'd have gone over & helped with the kids obviously that cant happen. They're going to try her again off the ventilator this morning we've just got to wait & see. Its fucking shit she's 34 the nicest lass you'd ever meet do anything for the kids etc I feel so angry fuck you Corona virus. We are all gutted here.0 points
