Went to the supermarket this morning and watched a guy purchase a piñata, some paella and a sombrero. I thought to myself... Hispanic buying.8 points

Little bit of goods news lads regarding the son in laws ex. Apparently she responded well to dialysis this afternoon. Her body oxygen levels are back up to 65% whatever that means. She's still in a medical induced coma but hopefully there's a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel.4 points

Whatever goodwill there was for the government at the start of all this has now gone for me. These daily press conferences are a total waste of time where you've got no mark ministers avoiding questions, and a format that allows zero follow up. How long are they going to keep referring to testing "capacity" as if that's the target when they are falling to test to that capacity day after day. It's fucking infuriating.2 points

My optimism was based on the published numbers. Seems very likely they weren't accurate or were manipulated. We're back on the trajectory I had originally feared. And at the risk of being accused as point scoring (I'm most certainly not), i am fucking furious the government didn't lock down sooner on this. I'm also still fucking angry I am being dragged in every fucking day to none essential paper work, increasing my and my family's risk, and ultimately everybody's risk. This, whilst working for supposedly the best NHS trust in the country. It's just not right.2 points

He can’t concentrate for very long though. I don’t mean that flippantly, I think it’s actually the case. And he’s a fucking psychopath2 points

The government pays 80%, up to £2,500 a month, under the job retention scheme. We have decided to pay the rest out of our own pockets. There's absolutely nothing illegal or fraudulent about it.2 points

You're fucking right I wouldn't! If they don't put raw basil on it when it comes out of the oven, I don't want to know.2 points

I only went to the doll to procure resin. It was an odd place, a bit star wars cantina but I never felt it that threatening. Trent house, Egypt cottage, and especially the Barley Mow were my town places. The Avenue in Whitley Bay and Surfers in Tynemouth on the coast. Ahh, mammaries.1 point

The Broken Doll was definitely one of my regular haunts. The Forth, Telegraph and The Dog and Parrot were all decent pubs up that end of town, but the Doll was in a league of its own1 point

I doubt it would bettered the jukebox in the Sydney Trade Union, man what a club that was. But nothing beats a place with a cracking jukebox. The local I started going to that same year (17), the Iron Workers, had a decent juke box, lots of punk, new wave and stoner classics. These young cunts today don't know what they missed out on. Spotify, fuck off spotify! Gene would have been a regular wouldn't he? With the meetings and things. Monkey fist is a bit older isn't he? He was probably there sniffing some punk girls seat.1 point

Good luck with it with borders being closed all over Europe. There is a huge number of workers from Poland missing here as well. I’d suggest to recruit everyone having a new blue passport to step in. Or workers from China...1 point

Once the antibody tests come in, I think maybe they will introduce badges, perhaps to label people who aren't immune. Something like a star maybe, could be worn as an arm band?1 point

spilling your pint as soon as you roll away from the bar and spending the next hour careering round the pub trying to slurp up the puddle.1 point

Good point, I need my pacemaker replacing this year, so you cunts can stop in the house and shut your fucking gobs for the next 6 months. It's gonna get mental when we start doing the corona hokey cokey though. Imagine the first day they re open the pubs ffs.1 point
-
But imagine when the restrictions come off altogether. Lads walking down the street windmilling their knobs (you can look at them). Lasses with their baps out (I'll be looking at them). Humping in the streets. It'll be like VE Day. It's gonna be boom time for sexy fuckers like me.1 point

He’ll blame the Chinese. Whether he gets elected or not will depend on how many he’s able to convince. If shit gets really bad for him he could go down the route of full on conspira-loon and says it’s been deliberate. Alex Jones et al will certainly be claiming this (if they aren’t already).1 point
-
But logically he should never have been elected in the first place. I’d like to think this finishes his chances but who knows?1 point

Maybe that's exactly what the anti-gun activists need to be doing, the Stoneman Douglas kids and the Sandy Hook parents and all. Fill up the media just outright telling these people their dead relatives are fake. See if the penny drops.1 point

But there will be cunts like Alex Jones claiming the piles of bodies are actors. And there’ll be idiots that believe him, in scarily significant amounts.1 point

I think Trump gets re-elected still. He'll just claim the US was better than everyone else, their economy is stronger, that the rest of the world wishes that they'd listened to him etc. Same as always, he'll lie, people will challenge it only in anti-trump circles, and his base will just believe him.1 point
-
It’s probably depending how long it does last and if it’s over before the election. If the economy is picking up again after the crisis has peaked Trump will claim it as a result of his tremendous success and handling of everything. As I have lost any confidence in voters making sensible decisions it probably doesn’t matter anyway, they just vote for the person screaming loudest and blames immigrants.1 point
-
I don’t think it’s a given that Trump doesn’t get returned in November. Johnson is getting a fuckin sympathy vote for not following his own advice ffs. 300/400k out of 331 million. Lots will know someone affected. I expect we all do on this board but that’s not a cure for terminal stupidity.1 point
