He would have united the remain vote and left the leavers to Johnson. He would have won votes from the Lib Dems and small c conservatives. He would have put ideological purity aside to form a pre-election pact with the other progressive parties. He would done whatever it took to stop Brexit. He would have annihilated Johnson in the debates. He was a master political operator. The thing about Blair, that momentum types try to brush under the carpet, is he was pretty fucking good at winning elections. Unbeaten, in fact. A perfect record: 3 and 0. Almost the exact opposite to Jezza’s 0 and 2. He didn’t know how to lose.2 points

There are large parts of the “far left” () who I’m genuinely starting to think don’t want a labour government. Maybe the WiFi is better in the opposition seats? Starmer is about as left as they come but Momentum and the likes are going on as if he’s just right of Hitler. Asking where his funding has come from despite the fact he’s met the rules and declared it. Meanwhile RLB gets an interest free loan of £20,000 from momentum & pisses £100ks of Union money up the wall.2 points

I'd be pleased with him too but a proposal is going a bit OTT.2 points

He really is a tedious prick. Conveniently didn’t watch and didn’t have a comment for the games we were absolutely tragic, but beat a second tier side in the cup and he’s buzzing to go right back at all the Bruce doubters (despite the fact Bruce’s ineptitude made a hash of the second half). It’s also worth noting Bruce seemingly only picked ASM purely because of the reaction to dropping him prior match, and he was one of our better players today. Good to be through, and while he did botch the second half Bruce does deserve credit, the same as he deserves stick when we’re stinking PL games out.2 points

It's difficult to berate the left for not being united while simultaneously dismissing anyone on the left who doesn't share your world view but you've managed to do it. Well done.1 point

I'm going to add that the left will never capitalise because it needs a global movement and is incapable of creating one. It is intellectually bankrupt with no ideas or vision around which to unify people other than fear of climate change. It has filled it's ranks with the super woke who achieve utterly fuck all aside from immediately switching off the working classes, and when it finally does put forward people like Corbyn and Sanders who actually stand on platforms of truth with policies that can make a difference, it fails to credibly defend them from the obvious as fuck targeting and sustained attacks they come under. The left is a disorganised, useless collective of well-meaning hand wringers who lack the strategic vision to mount a serious challenge, and the fire and fury to push it forward even if they did manage to create one. I give Sanders a pass on this actually because i think he has both in spades - his problem is he's trying to reform a country that is beyond the pale in the stupidity stakes. The left will never beat the right because the left are made up of pleasant ordinary people with a social conscience who think that if they're just nice enough to everyone and tell the truth, they'll change people's minds. Meanwhile the right are spending billions changing the definition of the word 'truth', hiding facts through newsfeed algorithms, lying shamelessly, and perverting legal and electoral processes. How are the left ever going to beat that? We haven't even gotten started on deep faking yet, but you just know that it'll be a generation defining political fuckfest when that comes into play.1 point

The election result in Ireland doesn't show that there's room for the left to win? The fact that the boomers will all be dead in 20 years doesn't give cause for optimism? I think you're being a little bit overly downbeat.1 point

You can tell Bruce was s lying because if it was just a case of ASM having back and hamstring issues he’d have put him in the starting XI1 point

What a great endorsement. So, he got to the mystical stages of the competition by fielding his strongest teams and needing four matches and a late extra time winner against two teams playing two leagues below... ...or, in other words, he doesn’t seem to be very competent.1 point
