Bruce is utterly complicit just by dint of taking the job itself. There’s no secret to what Ashley stands for. He’s floundering after a run of astonishingly fortunate results. Bruce is disloyal and useless. He gets jobs because of his affable Geordie persona, he genuinely appears to be popular in English football circles including and importantly sections of the media. His record tells its own story though, yesterday was the 300th game he’s lost as a manager.3 points

Aye, a real genius. Taking two seasons, two managers and a £4 million striker to get out of that shit league.3 points

The shit that Rafa managed to make one of the top 5 form teams in the league this time last year, you mean?2 points

So is this the point where, as it becomes increasingly clear that Bruce is not actually doing as well as Rafa, those who malign the latter start finding a new route to apportion blame away from Bruce (since the "he has more points than Rafa did" argument appears to be a bust). We're therefore left with "Rafa left him a shit bunch of players". Bruce is an absolute waste of space. That's not his fault, most of humanity are in that boat with him - but let's not pretend that he's in any way comparable to Rafa Benitez.2 points

This is a good point. Trans rights seems to be one of the most toxic and divisive discussions in play. It's such a tiny fucking niche area that any Labour leader should just go with the majority view on it and leave it there. Yes to trans people, no to bathroom sharing. I don't agree with that personally but this is not a battle we can afford. We couldn't even win the immigration battle ffs, let alone trans rights.2 points

We need to ply 4-2-3-1 to get more support to the striker since none of them can hold the ball up. Our central midfielders would probably get over run because they aren’t mobile enough and I doubt Bruce could set them up to defend well enough without a 3rd centre back though.2 points

Aye I've got my membership card and I'm getting endless emails from my CLP and topless shots from Nandy. You've been frozen out by the Corbynistas.2 points

Ask him if we ever took the Fulwell. If he says yes he’s not a makem. No makem will ever admit it.1 point

A bit like the old codgers Fergie left Moyes, who’d actually pissed the league the season before, but if you have friends in the media, like both Moyes and Brucey have .......1 point

the usually reliable george caulkin seems to have ruffled a few feathers on his twitter by stating that bruce isn't the problem at nufc... Steve Bruce isn’t the problem at #NUFC. Each game, each result is portrayed as a referendum on his management and another week goes by, ignoring the bigger picture ... that the club is built to fail and that’s exactly what’s happening. Nobody can be surprised by that, surely? i think as a stand alone statement it's fair enough, we all know ashley is the biggest cunt, however bruce is far from deserving of much defence, if you willingly play with fire george, there's a reasonable chance you'll get burned.1 point

I believe in their rights, but they're not the only ones, or indeed the biggest group, under attack. Nor is the nature of the attack particularly devastating. Pragmatism. Stop being an ideological purist1 point

The same bloke wouldn’t be happy if Bruce was managing Everton though1 point

Think putting Richie back on the right and moving Almiron in the 10 would be better going forward. He isn’t my favourite player but Hayden needs to play centre midfield, he can get about a bit and wins the ball back a decent amount.1 point

He’s spot on here. I appreciate liberal viewpoints around sexuality or gender equality probably aren’t widespread in traveller communities, but given Fury’s likely been called a gypo cunt more times than he can remember I’d imagine he’s got some empathy around racism.1 point

Not sure how I feel about this...always thought it should be an elected upper house but they’re going to try to do away with it and replace it with nothing, or an “elected” committee of placemen. That’s when we become a fascist state.1 point

Agree with all this, he seems very grounded. I always enjoy listening to him, particularly when talking about his depression. He seems to be a genuinely intelligent bloke. I haven’t seen the documentary so will give it a watch. Money aside, not sure there is much point in a rematch with Wilder.1 point

A useful one it seems for a bigger, global plan.... This is the Bannon text book. I don’t give a fuck about the rule of law when it comes to that cunt, someone should put a bullet between his eyes1 point

He seems to have grown up a bit since coming out with that stuff. It’s nigh on impossible to grow up with a Dad like he’s got and not turn out a bit of a prat. I’ve enjoyed the documentary that’s been on about him the last couple of weeks. He’s clearly got some demons that crop up occasionally but he loves his wife and kids, lives in Morecambe and spends his week having a laugh with the workers at the local tip1 point

On this day in 1987 Spurs was the most terrified I've ever been at an away game, not for the trouble after the match but the crushing on the terraces. https://youtu.be/i42jCN6duHY1 point
