  1. If we use the Tory way of counting 'rough sleepers' though, its a lot less. I.e they drive around, if they dont see anyone, then they're not there. Callous bastards. This year me and my wife are giving money to a Homeless charity in Leeds instead of buy presents. We have also done an advent calendar where we put a couple of quid away each day and then give them the money at the end of advent. My wifes gone into work and done the same and her company are going to match what she's got. Between us at Christmas we will be giving them £2k so pretty pleased with that. Especially on days like today where it's baltic.

  4. I knew a blind lass who was the most mild-mannered, shy, and reserved person imaginable, but, out of the blue, she threw a bukkake party and invited over 20 total strangers. She still doesn’t know what came over her.

  5. I’m currently working on 3 schemes for homeless people in Manchester, bedsit type things. Come furnished with all bills and communal wifi paid for. By the government? Nah we have had zero funding for them

  6. Educationally subnormal is the term I use. None of my friends have ever complained - they're too thick.

  7. I am pretty sure that Corbyn is an anti-globalist, but didn't want to say so, as with Brexit. From outside looking in, that was what made him unelectable. Whether he wanted to be elected is another matter, but no politician will willingly walk away from the kudos (and possibly the pay packet) which goes with being PM or leader of the opposition. Perhaps the stupidity came from those who blindly supported him when they should have pulled the plug. Anyway, I am 59 and live in Australia, so what do I know PS Even at that great age, I would not have voted for Brexit

  11. Also nice to see Gallagher not forgetting the SAFC/Man City friendship* now that they're a million miles away from each other. *One of the many football alliances Sunderland have with other clubs. (No way he'd ever consider a Mag for a bouncer. FTM!)

  14. Starmer has got no chance. He will wilt when he comes face to face with Nandy. She eats doner kebabs for breakfast and posh nancy boy barristers for lunch.

  18. Boris will claim it's Labour's fault for not stopping him, and the BBC will start talking about how ineffective the opposition was at a time of great national peril - and how only Boris can be trusted to do the work of both the government and the leader of the opposition.

  28. Actually, I'm not happy with anything I just wrote in that post so I'm just going to scale back on the use of education as a metric for people's voting for now. There are too many other parameters mixed up in there. I suspect I might actually mean 'informed' rather than 'educated'.

  29. Hey dickheads, look at the alternatives. Starmer has a penis so he's wasting his time. Thornberry is an ardent remainder and good luck winning back Leigh with her in charge. RLB is thick as fuck and Rayner is only running as her deputy. Cooper is old guard, she'll just be making up the numbers. Which only leaves Wigan Wonder Woman. I genuinely do think she's better than the other options bar those that you now can't pick (Starmer and Thornberry).

  36. I'm struggling with this logic. Obviously he's gone back on his word before, but that was arguably out of necessity. So why make a law, so you can repeal that same law, making yourself look like a tit in the process, pissing off international companies, and crashing the pound, for no reason? He's got a huge majority and doesn't need to appease the ERG.I think he wants no deal for his disaster capitalist mates and to pave a deal with the US. Too many people think Johnson is benign. He's not.

  38. He’s outlawing nothing. He could veto an extension regardless. And he can still easily change his mind on an extension by pushing through a one line bill to amend the withdrawal act. It’s one purely for the cameras.

  42. Aye. YouGov had 66% of over 65s saying they would be "dismayed" if Corbyn became PM. This is the 1981-2011 trend and it goes some way to explaining the places that have switched. If Labour wants them back again, it's not just about getting jobs and opportunities back into these places, but also the kind of cultural and leisure and other options that will stop quite so many younger people from leaving for cities.
