"Peter Pigeon, general builder here. Over the moon at the minute, did a quick botch job on a lentil eating leftie with a bird phobia. How'd you get the job, you ask? I told him I'd get some family to move into his chimney if I didn't get the job and that sealed it to be honest, mate. He was shitting it! Anyway, turns out he sent £400 online to someone else and it only ended up in my account instead as the Herbert put my account details instead of the geezer who was supposed to get it. Happy days!"5 points

Going back through this thread always cheers me up no matter how bad things are going in the real world. Look at this, man. A photo of a baked potato like we don't know what one is.5 points

I know what will really drive traffic to my blog. Posting it on a forum that only exists for a group of 15 people to relentlessly abuse each other!4 points

Haute cuisine. Trademark CT. Note not only the classic cherry tomatoes, but note also use of processed ham and the porcine cannibalistic bite mark from the middle cracker.4 points

Drax. What an ocean going cunt. Titled gentry enters parliament so he can ensure nothing gets in the way of him planting solar farms all over Dorset. Should be beaten to death with a mobilty scooter4 points

Oh, and his actual name is Richard Grosvenor Plunkett-Ernle-Erle-Drax. This fucking country.4 points

Fair playuh to Peytar. BTW @Rayvin, I don't reckon this is over yet. Still a chance of a mental result. The YouGov MRP is released tonight, let's see what that has to say for itself. The reporting of Johnson and the photo yesterday has been much more widespread than I expected - maybe the press have been stung by being played for suckers - and that will definitely land with people who are wavering.3 points

That staged photo claim is just... I mean the telegraph has always been a Tory paper but it's interesting to see yet another journalist fail to carry about basic journalistic rigour and just run with utter crap. I'm wondering how much more of this there needs to be before people start admitting the media aren't able to function. It's just so depressing.3 points

BBC back on script I see. Ashworth’s comments a bigger story than the PM being a proven liar over post-Brexit customs arrangements for NI. Dominic Cummings orchestrating fake news not even a story2 points

Monbiot breaking an embargo to demonstrate that a collection of newspapers (but definitely not the "MSM") wrote a pack of lies about Labour wanting to introduce a tax on capital gains instead of the idea being reviewed and rejected. IPSO had agreed they all lied but seemed content to prevent the admission coming before the election, hence the embargo. So that's another conspiracy to misinform the public. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/dec/10/break-embargo-expose-press-lies-labour?2 points

"They work for you" website shows Drax has voted against measures to limit climate change, against various pieces of equality and human rights legislation, against same sex marriage, against proportional representation, against smoking bans, against a higher tax rate for those earning above £150,000, against a bankers' bonus tax, for lower corporate taxes, for lower welfare benefits, for ending educational financial support for any 16-19 year olds and for the "bedroom tax". Sounds about right.2 points

The names were completely different. It's not exactly advanced AI to have an algorithm match the name with the account. We do much more complex data computing here with hardly any resources.2 points

the ideal scenario to fuck these desperate cunts up would be for folk who are close to throwing the towel in getting tickets for those who have and wouldn't use them. they then cancel their own direct debits and use the free seat themselves.2 points

As usual Cadwalladr nails it. The story that needs writing up is who the "senior tories" are that are spreading fake news during an election campaign. And print the faked whatsapp chats about 100s of protestors being ferried to the hospital in taxis paid for by Labour activists. All of it lies. At best, Kuennsberg is a useful idiot who is shit at her job. At worst she is complicit.1 point

Even if they don't gloss over it, as Renton said, the public just don't give a shit now. We're too polarised for trivialities like suffering children and obvious lying. Johnson could start executing people in the streets and he'd still not drop in the polls.1 point

Agree with that. The problem with the hiring of Bruce was that it underlined that 17th was good enough. If the guy overachieves and gets us midtable then great for him, but that doesn't mean the club will kick on. Every season will be a relegation scrap that is easier or harder depending on how well he does, but it will never get beyond that point. So yes, there's nothing Bruce can do unless he can actually change the entire philosophy of the club.1 point
