why would you be surprised? there is nothing even remotely rational about the way the club is being run. it's long since past the point of being simple incompetence or bad decision making. there's very clearly an agenda to ensure the club remains uncompetitive. it fails in its role as a sporting institution and survives only as an advertising hording for a fucking hideously tacky brand. ashley doesn't give a fuck about the hopes and dreams of the supporters, on the contrary, im sure the cunt gets a perverse pleasure out of crushing the aspirations out of not only the current generation of our city's folk, but the next one too. he's going fucking nowhere, and you wonder why this prompts some extreme views? for fuck's sake man, what is there even to sit and debate? as for bruce... he like everybody else on the planet earns the right to be liked and respected or warrant the cunt tag. as a player, his career at man utd was of little interest to me, i do however acknowledge his achievements. he earns some historical respect. as a manager he is an irrelevance, the only thing remarkaable about it is that it is littered with betrayal. he demonstates time and time again he has moral compass of a dead slug. he has willingly bought in to being part of a corrupt and vindictive regime and immediately started puking up its soundbytes. fuck the disgusting cunt.4 points

Aye, and considering some of the shite we’ve signed, that’s quite an achievement. He should put it in his fucking brochure.2 points
-
He hasn’t changed has he? Such a self obsessed little baby, the poster child for the modern footballer. I wouldn’t mind him criticising the club if he’d actually done anything for us, but he was the biggest waste of money we’ve ever signed.2 points

Refused to come off the bench when we lost to Villa and went down. That might have had a negative impact on his relationship with Shearer too2 points
-
It’s also nice to remember that he was so loyal to his boyhood team that he spent the best part of his career at their bitter rivals before ending his career at the bitter rivals of the rivals of his boyhood team.2 points

Newcastle United is bigger than a man and a few players. Even, is bigger than the League situation. Yes, obviously, everyone want to win, etc etc etc, but at the end... it doesn't motter. NUFC is a feeling. When I was a child, I liked the team because the colours, the environment in the stadium, the players (Shearer, Solano, S. Taylor, Emre, Bellamy...) but really I started to support the team when I was 16 yo... the year of the first relegation with Ashley. For me, the important were you, the people, the city, the songs in the stadium... this is the real NUFC I feel. PS: And yes... You can support Atletico. We are more similars as a club than you think hahaha.2 points

Amazing how I can hear his monotonous, dim-witted drone through his writing.2 points

I can have a sensible conversation about Ashley and I don't mind anyone going to the games. Theres a significant minority want change though and are willing to do something about it. If we sit on our hands nothing will happen. This is a start. Not sure where it will lead. You're wandering into straw man territory. No one's said Rafa could do no wrong, but if you can't see that ushering him out the door is the final straw for a good few supporters then you're the one with the problem. My knickers aren't in a twist but again, if you can't see Bruce has the loyalty of a steading cat then you need to face some facts, especially if he is, as reported , the lowest paid manager in the league. The novelty will soon wear off if he performs as expected and he gets even worse shit from fans just fed up with the whole situation.2 points

Thanks for the memories. Saturday was my first experience in St. James Park. I came from Madrid to your city just for the match. It was the momment I have been waiting for more than 10 years. I spoke with a lot of people in the city, in the stadium and everyone helped me, asked me why was a crazy Atletico de Madrid born fan than loves Newcastle. Love you guys. I can't explain why, but I started to cry when the match started. Appreciate what you have and you can enjoy every 15 days. You are very very very special. See you in the future, I know.2 points

If Michael Owen was such an elite footballer how come he only talks about Newcastle United when he releases a book? For a large part of his career here he was about a much use as Jimi Hendrix’s sleeping pills so to go on as if he was above us is utterly laughable. Not one of his ex clubs likes him. No wonder Liverpool didn’t want him back, they’d have known first hand what an utter prick he is.1 point

We have a problem. With all our guys fit, we have attack to play in 4231, but defence to play with 5 in the back.... Almiron should be play just behind Joelinton, with Atsu in the left and Saint Maximin in the right. How do you see to put Dummett in the left back again? Ritchie could play as a left back in a 4 man defence?1 point

Johnson just got fucking rinsed for a solid couple of hours there. He is terrible at this job.1 point

Honestly I reckon those days are used trying to understand what the fuck it is the government has randomly decided to implement for the year ahead.1 point

I don't understand, seriously, how Corbyn has continuously managed to be the second most terrifying person in the room on Brexit after Johnson. I'd currently rank him ahead of Farage on that metric.1 point
-
Criminally though he could face a life sentence for misconduct in public office which would obviously be a fantastic outcome but that's not the pressing issue here.1 point
-
I don't think the fans of any of the clubs he played for have any time for him, which says more about Owen than the supporters I reckon.1 point
-
Shame on those fans though, calling him a waste of money after 14 games in two seasons.1 point

And they've got Oliver Kay too who is pretty decent.1 point
-
Surely if they’re mates he’ll be telling them to avoid the place like the plague in any case1 point
-
Maybe. On the other hand they could have been more sensible and appoint someone more decent and especially not likely to further alienate fans... or they could have matched the ambition of the old manager and cared about the club and its fans... But that would have been as likely as you not posting nonsense tbh.1 point

Saw this tweet in reference to them linking themselves to Scott Sinclair: Deluded League One tramps.1 point

He should have done if he was as passionate about his boyhood club he always supported as he keeps saying. It would have been more appropriate than to imply fans to be fickle imbeciles who will be happy after just a couple of positive results.1 point

Was at that game with my Dad. Top of the league, lovely day, great win, world class players in Beardsley and Waddle. All was well in the world.1 point

'Do you ken Hughie Gallacher? The wee Scots lad. The best centre forward, Newcastle ever had.' .....is the only song/chant I've heard of. (Not bad considering he played for us in the nineteen twenties. How many songs will Newcastle fans in 2068 know about Loic Remy or Craig Bellamy?)1 point

Yeah, this is the terrifying possibility with Labour. They need to resist that GE no matter what, and yet we all know they'll dive in, get destroyed in the GE, Corbyn resigns and none of it matters anymore because all that's left for whoever takes over to 'oppose' the government on is whether or not the poor have the right to food.1 point

Bollocks. Ashley hasn't changed one jot between Rafa taking the job and leaving the job. He knew exactly what he was getting into, as did Pardew and as does Bruce. Calling Bruce a "fucking disgusting cunt" for taking the job is just proving the likes of Carragher spot on in their observations. We've got 40 year old blokes in here who are incapable of having a rational conversation about the club anymore. Rafa could do no wrong, Bruce can do no right. Everything is an extreme, all or nothing. This place has gone right down the shitter in the last 6 months. It's not an Nufc fan forum anymore, it's a handful of the same posters slagging off any fans who go to the match, hold on to any semblance of positivity, enjoy wins etc. It's no surprise some of the better posters don't bother as much these days on here. There's not a poster in here who doesn't dislike Ashley for he's done to the club , or who thinks Bruce is an upgrade on Rafa. But the grown blokes getting their knickers in a twist because the whole fan base isn't falling in line with them really need to turn the internet off once in a while1 point
-
It's not the same situation. Rafa took the job because of the potential of the club. He negotiated himself a decent contract, fought to get his full backroom staff in, was given assurances over the development of the training ground and academy and made sure he got the title of manager. Bruce got the job because the club were sure he'd accept the limited role of head coach and wouldn't rock the boat.1 point

He didn't honour anything at Sheff Weds Or Hull Or Palace Mike Ashley has been an abomination for 12 years but wanting to appear fair minded about him and his latest appointment is the road we should be going down. That's what I call fuckin silly tbh1 point

I read this post through and thought "fucking hell, that's perhaps the most intelligent thing essembee has ever posted" and then did a double take. I agree with you. It was unsettling for a moment though.1 point

Almiron should be playing on the left, he's all left foot. Last season even if he didn't directly contribute to an assist stat, the scond ball from his run would often lead to the assist for a goal. For some stupid reason cabbage heed has him playing on the right (I bet it's because ASM has laid claim to the left) and when he does get around his man he scuffs his pass/cross because his righ foot is only good for standing on. Or he tries to cut inside and it makes it so much easier for the defender, so you can see he's cutting inside to early as he has no confidence. Almiron is all about pace.1 point
