Lee Ryder didn’t spend his five years of high school dunking Charnley’s head down the shitter to be mugged off with ‘no comment’.8 points

The cup final/wembley talk is amazing, they got to the final of a cup we've never been low enough in the league structure to be entered into and a playoff final for a league we've never dropped to. Lost both and think thats something they can hold over us6 points

That's the cunt who predicted we were going to do a Leeds/Portsmouth and were heading for admin when Shepherd was in charge - ironic considering where they are at the moment.3 points

So this is going to be the week when Mike Ashley can rightly say he is getting the hang of this football lark. By selling up and fucking off. And all this while the the big bucks TV money rolls in. Of course it hasn't been delivered without pain, but few revolutions are smooth. We will rightly hear all sorts of praise for dynamic duo this week and once again our club will be heralded as the blue print for most clubs to follow. So where now? What about the next few years? How can we as a club take advantage of this solid foundation and become a regular top four challenger?2 points

So Sarri is going to have brought Chelsea a european trophy and 3rd in the premier league behind two of the most remarkable sides to have every played in it may yet be sacked this summer. Reckon Rafa would take him as assistant?2 points

This is a telling glimpse of what those proposed Super League games would be like. Flat atmospheres translating to boring matches in front of 85% corporate seats. It’s that shit that it should kill the idea off for good.2 points

It seems a bit wrong to call him a cunt when he’s going to be pulling on the black and white in a few months.2 points

I'm pretty sure nearly all the public's grievances with the EU are imagined. But to tell them that implies that they're stupid (which they most certainly are).2 points

Imagine the Sky sports build up to the Citeh game, with Arabian swords clashing together on the graphics etc2 points

This is still absolutely perfect stuff for Ashley at the minute. For once, it isn't just NUFC fans scrutinising the club, most of the football media in the UK are watching and expecting the club to act, to keep Benitez in place and back him. Failing to sign Rondon, for example, would look incredibly naive and cheap and draw a lot of stick. For this 'takeover' to drag on all month and then fall apart at the last minute gets them totally off the hook for all of it, including if Benitez walks. I'm keeping calm for now. Of course I'm fucking desperate for it to happen, but I'm not being played by that fat despicable slave driving Tory cunt again.2 points

Apparently the don did a podcast and told them they’re much better off in League 1 and that everything is great financially.2 points

I'm ready for the "Sheikh Khaled -- Football Enigma" thread to go up as soon as we get confirmation of the sale1 point

Why should the club say anything just so those dicks have something to print? I like how their official story is "We don't know" but are trying to frame it as there being mass confusion. Quite why football journalists think they deserve to know everything and want to be bigger than the story is beyond me; they have absolutely no concept of their own lack of importance1 point

The Sheikh is having their lives. Every time their fake sources tell them something he's releasing a statement making them look clueless. Even Douglas said yesterday that PL had received nowt and today he's moving saying oh well it's not as far along as you might think though. Fucking chancers1 point

Never a truer word said in jest. Here's Edwards with that implied bombshell he promised from the PL about the takeover. "Neither have the Premier League, who told Telegraph Sport on Wednesday afternoon they would not provide a “running commentary on a takeover that may or may not happen.” https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/05/29/newcastle-united-takeoverbin-zayed-group-claim-have-provided/1 point

I have every sympathy with them but they're going to solve jack shit with brexit. There's having sympathy with people and there's enabling delusions...1 point

They've cooked Ashley's goose with that. If it all falls through its completely and utterly on him.1 point

These same jurnos that have had 'sources' calling it BS for the last 24hr no doubt.1 point

All sounding positive from various journos now. Proof of funds and terms sent to the Premier League and apparently they’re going through the Fit and Proper Persons test. Who is doing good deals on cans atm?1 point

That’s really fucking weird man, I genuinely thought when i scrolled down the replies would have been saying it was embarrassing, instead it’s “woah that’s class that marra”1 point

No I completely agree with your point of view. I hardly need to post the terms of the referendum to you though do I? How do you suggest a people's vote or some other solution that might deliver sanity gets through parliament?1 point
-
I do see where you're coming from. I'm continuing to stick with Remain on the basis that pragmatism suggests that if everyone -can- just get over it, it's a lot better for all of us. However, I'm not in the crowd that think we should just revoke and stop talking about it - that would be a betrayal too far. And I suppose the Leave voters have been betrayed here. By the Tories alone, but still. We need to reform the narrative from the left, centre it on economics and income inequality, and bolster education on citizenship at schools. One good thing to come from all of this is that the doors have been well and truly blown off political correctness. It was never fixing anything, it just drove everything underground where it could fester and then return with a vengeance. Maybe the left can focus on more unifying issues now.1 point

Ross Atkin (@rossatkin) Tweeted: There were some not very useful infographics of the EU election data going around yesterday and some dodgy takes based on them. I’ve tried to visualise the results here in a way that you can meaningfully compare them with voting in the 2016 referendum. 👇 #infographic #brexit https://t.co/Z7YaTVWeh91 point

Due diligence completed. High profile broker for football club sales has been involved from the start. Several private jets scheduled to arrive at Newcastle airport on Friday morning, Du Vin booked out Saturday night. MD of Bin Zayed Group Midhat Kidwai telling people on linkedin that he hopes to be celebrating on Saturday night. 'Journalists' scrambling because they don't have inside information. I think it's happening. Whether or not it's a good thing remains to be seen.1 point

Fucking hell it feels magic that the NUFC fan base had these fucking chancers sussed from the start, even better that it’s only dawning on the mackems now as they have a whole summer of doing fuck all but fume about it as ‘them up the road’ have positive take over talks.1 point

Honestly man they should be prescribed as an antidepressant, if you're feeling down just think it could be a lot worse, you could have been born a mackem.1 point

I don't understand why they aren't more self aware about how much of the blame for what happened to them actually rests with the fans. That season in the championship they picked up 21 points away from home. At home, they picked up 16. Meaning that the atmosphere at home was so dismal that they were actually better off playing in front of opposing fans. That's not on the manager, or the players really, that's on them. They failed to create any kind of supportive atmosphere for the team, for basically an entire season. They needed 6 points to avoid relegation that year. If the home taking of points had exceeded their away taking, by even a solitary point, they'd have done it. Tl;dr, the mackems relegated Sunderland to league one by being shit fans1 point

I was gonna say he's a cut above most of the local yokel journo's, not as good as Caulkin though. Definitely had a shitter the past two days.1 point

Are we saying that Ashley has put a bunch of apparently serious Middle Eastern businessmen up to creating a smokescreen to facilitate a. Rafa leaving when his contract runs out and b. creating enough confusion in the summer transfer window that we do little to no business at all? That, my friends, appears unlikely to me....1 point
