  1. Check out @EmporersNewC’s Tweet: I don't usually like people engaging with Morgan, but this is a thorough dismantling.

  4. It’s extremely unlikely that no deal would be on any potential ballot.

  5. Watson is the only fucker who seems to care about the electoral crimes but he's a lone voice unfortunately.

  6. I think it's completely fair to assume Russia is behind this in some form, and quite possibly even the US since they've never been keen on a strong Europe. But it's also a good number of fuckheads in our own country. Maybe we should make it treasonous to disseminate fake news, punishable by actual jail time (if you're the source at least) irrespective of who the fuck you are in the country.

  7. Yeah I'm really not sure how we deal with this now. Clearly some people in society are capable of existing responsibly in the age of bullshit, but many are not. One of my friends is an Indian lad who frequently talks about this phenomenon in India. Apparently they're very concerned about the use of things like Whatsapp since it has been leading to mob killings in rural areas by people being whipped up into a frenzy in community groups (which basically become echo chambers). They've banned it in certain areas I believe. It's similar here clearly - some people just can't be trusted in the age we live in.

  8. Have you a link to the actual source of that survey, rather than just a newspaper report (which I've seen in the Metro, but didn't give a link). It's just that I can't find it on the yougov website but its completely contrary to other surveys they've done very recently. I'd be interested in who funded this and how it was framed. There are millions of pounds being spent on promoting no deal on social media at the moment, by anonymous sources. They are sophisticated and targeted campaigns, just like in the referendum. Unless we can get a grip on this issue I genuinely believe democracy is dead. This will apply to elections as well as referenda. And the fact that both leave campaigns have been found to be corrupt, but this has been swept under the carpet, doesn't bode well for this issue being successfully managed. Increasingly, democracy is a mirage.

  9. Aye. Softest possible Brexit we can realistically get, to reflect the 52-48 split, then deal with the consequences later. I don't now really see what another referendum will achieve other than making the country even more fucking unpleasant to live in.

  10. The thing is about Morgan, he doesn’t even believe the shit he spouts most of the time (and this is almost certainly true in this instance). He’s just the worst kind of irresponsible populist, saying what he thinks people want to hear knowing he’ll be fine come what may.

  13. No shit. It has been pretty clear that he as much a horrible party leader as a leader of the opposition. He was lucky that an influx of young disgruntled Labour members brought him to the top. But having grabbed power of the party he is mainly rejecting the interests of those who brought him there. I say it again that the tragedy of Brexit is that the stance of remaining and approximate half of you population never had a competent person standing for it. Neither before nor after the dufferdendum has there been someone making a good case for remainers. Something rather absurd for the leader of Labour and the opposition considering the majority stance of his party.

  14. Mitrovic had 9 shots last night. If you’re making that many chances for your striker and you’re still not winning, then the blame on the defence can only go so far

  15. It was the failure of Theresa May for years not to properly define the terms of Brexit that allowed the hardliners to create their own vision. Had she come straight out of the traps after becoming PM she could have managed expectations, gained cross party support and gotten on with it.

  16. I think if that had been the promise from the beginning then I'd have accepted a soft Brexit and the remain side would have been much quieter than they have been. It's May's dangerous incompetence and the risk of a hard Brexit that has fired up the movement.

  17. @Kevin Carr's Gloves pretty much called me insane two years ago when I suggested that Labour and the Tories should work together on a deal that could please both parties. It could have saved a lot of time and hassle if the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom had listened to me then.

  18. I’d be delighted if he proved me wrong. You don’t actually think this a long term strategy that’s goinv to come to fruition though, do you? Assuming either of those outcomes happen, for argument’s sake. I get the distinct impression he’s been winging it as much as the government. I also think he’s anti-EU and he’s just hoped the Tory party would destroy itself so he could gain politically. It says a lot about his ineptitude as a leader that the former has happened without the latter following imo

  19. I'd give him a lot of slack, but still feel he fluked it! Way to early for such positive talk though.

  20. Isn’t she just flirting with Corbyn to get the rest of the fucknuts in her party to come to heel? 13 cabinet members back no deal? Think she’s just trying to call their bluff...
