Wanted man: Chris Gunter could leave Spurs for Newcastle Shearer is still in negotiations with Ashley regarding his long-term future as boss following the Magpies' relegation to the Championship. But he has insisted that Wales international Gunter, 19, will be the perfect start to any team rebuilding and strengthen the defence in a bid to get back to the Premier League at the first attempt. Gunter joined Spurs in January 2008 for £3m but manager Harry Redknapp loaned him out to Nottingham Forest in March - and is now looking to offload a teenager who has made just ten appearances for the club in 18 months for what the club paid for him.
