Dr Gloom 22149
i found it weird watching the cutaways to ashley celebrating our goals yesterday. he obviously wants us to do well, you could see by how much he was loving each of the goals. he probably thinks he's doing the right thing. could it be that he actually does care but he's just a total moron when it comes to making decisions about the management of the club? loonyTOON 10
Am a believer that he does care, and he genuinely wants the club to do well. But as Keegan said, he knows nothing of football and has a guy running the club thats knows even less. Saying that, I'm not saying am pro-ashley but I do think that he wants you to do well

He doesn't do things just to antagonise the fans, he's not Dr evil....he's just a fucking idiot. yeah, that's my take on it. he makes bizarre decisions that for some reason he thinks are for the good of the club. he probably doesn't set out to fuck us all off but once he has lost us, he doesn't really give much of a shit about winning us back. he's a thick skinned and stubborn cretin basically - a fat cockney chancer with a high pitched voice and a low iq. Happy Face 29
It put me right off watchingbeating the dippers 3-1 and i was sitting there fuming because of that cunt, totally sickening didn't enjoy the game at all, bastard has totally killed my interest. I'm fuming, and that prick was sitting with his smug grin on and at one stage literally rubbing his hands together. he reminds me of one of those gimps in work who doesn't like football but will read a few bits out of the daily paper and then try and pipe up with an opinion, yet this fucker is the owner of our club. Don't let the bastards grind you down. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Ayatollah Hermione 14053
We win more games, we're in a better position to be sold. Of course, any buyer would have to do business with those two lemonheads so it's a vicious cycle.

TheMoog 0
I'd have a lot more tolerance of Ashley if he ditched that prick Llambias, the little turd isn't fan friendly or anything other than a dodgy looking spiv fuck.
NJS 4411
I've always thought the schizo idea of him as a "fan" who did buy it for enjoyment and the bastard business man out to make money were both true. Doesn't stop me finding the sight of him celebrating hard to stomach though.

Course he wants us to do well, the problem is that we dont and probably will never know why. The investment is definitely a part of it and only natural, but I think its his ego that is driving him. He seems determined to make us succeed his way. He's certainly made quite a few errors in his time and its hard to imagine an owner whose actions have continually alienated his customers so often. These things can only properly be judged in Hindsight but I am sure that HE feels he has got every decision right since relegation. Not giving Shearer the job (who btw wanted to get rid of Barton) Giving Chris the job Strengthening the squad in the summer with the likes of Tiote and Bern Arfa Tying down the young good players on long contracts. Agreeing that himself and LLambias would make no further statements or interviews And now replacing Hughton The thing we also forget is the "good" owners are just not out there anymore. There all fat ass business men with no affiliation to the club and usually two keen to turn profitable clubs like Man U and Liverpool into Debt monsters. Agreeing that himself and LLambias would make no further statements or interviews And now replacing Hughton That would be right, cos he is a deluded mother fucker. He'd be the only one that thinks that way..... "You wonder when Alan Pardew's appointment was first muted. Personally I think it was a long time ago," said Paul Hayward. "It was a completely unnecessary change, the sort of change that can only destabilise the club, demoralise the players and tell everyone in the industry that Newcastle is no place to be if you want to achieve anything. "The players feel the same way from what I gather and the feeling when Hughton was sacked was one of disgust. "Pardew seems to like taking difficult jobs, Southampton turned out to be difficult, West Ham he got Tevez and Mascherano dropped on top of him and that turned a bit strange for him. He seems to have an appetite for difficult jobs and he has certainly got one at Newcastle." Hayward also had no idea of what Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is trying to achieve at the club. "What is so infuriating is that Newcastle had achieved some sense of stability. They had won the Championship and come back up. They had beaten Sunderland they had beaten Arsenal and you started to feel that this was a club who was starting to settle down and develop and build. "They had a hugely respected coach who had shown himself to be better than anyone thought he could be as a first team manager. Then they just dismiss him for no sensible reason. "If you behave like that then you cannot have a successful football club." Matt Lawton also fears for Pardew and wonders how long his reign at St James Park will last. "How long Alan Pardew lasts we will see, I fear that it won't be very long unless he goes on some incredible run. "I don't think Ashley has made one decent call since he has taken over. He consistently shocks and surprises and shows a complete lack of feel and understanding for the football club he has bought." http://www.skysports.com/tv_show/story/0,2...6569423,00.html

He'd be the only one that thinks that way..... Well apart from the last decision (which only time will tell) I agree with all of the others. Shearer didn't get the job cos it was cheaper Hughton got the job cos it was cheaper The only players he actually paid anything for were Tiote and Perch. We spent less than almost all other clubs on strengthening the squad....because it was cheaper....and suffered badly the last few games when we missed Barton, Tiote and Nolan. This will be a problem as the season goes on too. Renewing contracts is common sense, it wasn't even a decision. They've continued to make stupid statements. Despite saying there'd be no more. Happy Face 29
My guess is that it's just a case of being cheaper to bring in Pardew on a performance related contract than give Hughton the contract and the backroom staff he wanted and deserves too btw.
