LeazesMag 0
Also, Moncur was before my time, but put it this way. If Moncur is remotely similar to Taylor, Moncur was fucking horrendous. captained the under 21's the other night and he's shite ? You haven't seen Cacapa brushed aside on numerous occasions this season I take it
Guest alex
Cacapa's more comfortable on the ball and reads the game better but he's slow and lacks the physicality needed for the Premiership imo. He needs a big lad alongside him at least. I think Faye plus A.N.Other has to play in central defence since he's far and away the best we have there imo. Taylor and Cacapa look dodgy as fuck as a partnership.

You haven't seen Cacapa brushed aside on numerous occasions this season I take it Taylor (and Milner) are up there among the highest number of under 21 appearances. Not sure that's necessarily such a good thing though, look at it the other way, it shows an inability to kick on like Micah Richards has (2 years younger). Barney 0
Playing Taylor's advocate, Carragher had a shit load of U-21 caps too and only kicked on as a player in his mid-twenties. He's likely to make mistakes, but he's playing/learning in a shit defence. I also don't feel that he makes the unforced, Bramble type errors that Titus and JAB used to make. I can remember him getting absolutely blasted with statements like "He'll never be good enough" etc etc after 1 (possibly 2 own goals) in one game against Man Utd (I think it was) a few years ago. I'd play Taylor and Faye.
Kid Dynamite 7034
Taylor is my favourite player at the club. Not only is he our best defender, he never gives up, he has more heart and bottle than most of our 'seasoned pros' ie Butt, Barton etc. He always says thanks to the fans no matter how shit we have played. Hes usually our unofficial captain, always having a bit banter with the ref. When we havr to put the ball out for a pretend injury he makes sure it goes into their corner for a throw in rather than back to the keeper. And also, hes a fuckin bairn still!!! Hes what, 21,22? I dont know what people want from the poor lad? Rio, Terry, Woodgate, none of them were any better than Taylor at his age. Get off his back. I bet if you watched Micah Richards every home game hed make just as many cock ups.

He was stalling on a contract last year because the offer wasn't as good as what Carragher was on! He thinks he's far better than he actually is. Needs to knuckle down and concentrate on being a solid defender rather than going on 70 yard wanders up the pitch and dropping his partner in the shit. Kid Dynamite 7034
he's a young lad in a position that gets alot of scruitiny cos of how important a good centre back is . cant be england under 21 captain cos of luck , he's one of the best of his age group .playing in our back 4 these past few seasons cant have been helpfull either . Exactly mate, hes probably the one fucking decent player we have at the club and people are slating him. Pick me a better CB aged 21 and under in the premiership? There isnt one. Nuff siad tbh

Agreed, I'd have Faye and Cacapa in ahead of him, giving him a spell on the bench wouldn't do him any harm and if he kicks up a fuss show him the door. That said he does have great potential and it's largely down to him how he develops it, he could go on to become a top defender but he needs a settled, competent defence with a midfield that can hold the ball to help him achieve this. I bet if you watched Micah Richards every home game hed make just as many cock ups. I can see why those might be deemed positives, but a few things there are why I see him as a brown-nosing weasel. Just once I'd like to see him applaud the fans then leave the pitch, rather than loitering around for 5 minutes to ensure he's the last man off. It's disingenuous to me, knows exactly what he's doing.

Guest alex
Another problem I have with Taylor is that he drops off so much when the oppostion attacks. You occasionally see him doing what looks like a great clearance off the line but I'm often left wondering what on earth he's doing behind our keeper so often when the opposition attacks. He doesn't take responsibility and mark his man. That's another reason why he needs to play with Faye, if he's going to play, because Cacapa likes to drop-off and sweep too. There's a doubt for me as to who is best alongside him. I just hope we have a pretty settled back four from now on with Faye, Beye and Enrique all playing because those three are easily the best in their respective positions. Guest BigThompers
Also, Moncur was before my time, but put it this way. If Moncur is remotely similar to Taylor, Moncur was fucking horrendous. captained the under 21's the other night and he's shite ? You haven't seen Cacapa brushed aside on numerous occasions this season I take it No more than I have Taylor, who gets away with it more, being a local lad and not a darkie. Cacapa captained Lyon to a lot of trophies, a Lyon team containing top players. Taylor captaining the Under 21s does make him shite, I agree. How many other under 21 good defenders can you think of? Richards, but he actually is good so gets senior games.

Cris also plays for them and quite frankily played one of the worst centre back performance I have ever seen when we player Leverkusen.
