The highlights are on the clubs youtube channel and watching them back I noticed two things about Isak. 1. He was SO annoyed with himself about the chances he missed but still gave props to the players who'd set them up 2. Despite the misses he still took his goal first time, at distance with absolute confidence. A lesser player would've taken touches, brought the ball further forward and risked losing the chance after the earlier misses. He's fucking brilliant.

Nope, because xG is the probablity of a goal from the opportunity based on the circumstances around that opportunity like angle, distance etc. Not external factors like player quality, weather, quality of shite the night before etc. You can evaluate Isak and Hojlund based on their xG to goals conversion or something like that, not the other way around.

If your daughter brought that fucking weirdo home you would be devastated. Clip of him

I understand xG and why it’s useful but would like it if someone can explain one thing about it? So there is two identical chances created right, one falls to Isak and one falls to Hoijlund. Are they the same xG? Does it take into account the quality of the player the chance falls to? If not, isn’t that a massive flaw?

I know this is the Barnes thread but continuing on Longy, I feel a bit sorry for his position. Arguably he was doing the dirty work well but he's the kind of player who needs regular football to get the best out of him. At some point he became the scapegoat and the point of fans frustration which must be soul destroying for a player who is also a fan. He probably knows the writing is on the wall, doesn't want to leave but knows that he won't get game time sitting here on the bench.

They can come up with any narrative they like, the reality is it’s founded in unhinged bitterness and, the most gauling thing for them must be, that none of us give a shit what nonsense they come up with. When it comes down to reality, we’re in a completely different stratosphere … and they can’t cope with it.

We all know if that mother theresa had owned the club, they'd be saying she was backed by the illuminati funded by selling baby porn or some similar pipe dream. Something has to invalidate it somehow, anyhow. The last thing they'll admit is that we're an incredibly well run club with a brilliant manager, support team and set-up. Which hopefully will last for many years
-
It doesn't count because it's us. That's the only reason.
-
Aaaaannd our match thread has disappeared. (but they're not bothered or anything. And they don't watch it or owt. And it means nothing. And any wins will have an asterisk next to it or whatever. And they think asterisk is a cartoon about a gaul fighting the Romans).

It's this constant thing of how everyone needs to believe it's the money that transformed everything - I sort of get the mackems doing it tbh, but it's not just them. But the single most significant thing we've addressed since the takeover is putting Eddie Howe in charge of the club. The money helps, but it's not enough on its own. The difference between us and the rest is the manager. One day, maybe they'll see that.
-
Tbf they've nowt to play for until the traditional play off defeat by Coventry.
-
Their Eddie Howe thread is only at 26 pages, so not that popular a Newcastle topic it seems...
-
Well, I thought Eddie Howe might be a good coach getting the best out of our players but turns out he's not, it's just they're all dope up. What do I know?
-
Liam Bones is a brave name for a man with absolutely no bone structure to his face
-
Barnes has the 5th best minutes per goals in the PL this season. Deadly.
-
Shouldn’t they be worried about their game against Rochdale or Spennymoor or whoever they have on Friday?
-
The world and his dog knows where being fucked over by PSR and clubs trying to stop us but brains of Britain here thinks we've been financially cooking the books?
-
Enjoy it while you can lads, we'll be relegated to league 1 soon.
