To me he hasn't looked happy either - I think he was really enjoying being central to the club in the first couple of years of the takeover, scoring in big games, doing all the soft marketing stuff, getting on interviews etc. Now when I see him come on he just looks...low? At 27 he's arguably going into his best years as a midfielder, not sure he'd want to just be stuck on the bench with no real prospect of ever getting further than that.

I'd be very surprised if you can find such a fan. I remember reading an article in 4-4-2 (I think) back in the 90's about why people hate them. There were various reasons ranging from perfectly normal to ridiculous (they represent the Devil being the most insane) but the most convincing was Terry Christian's bit defending them. It was basically 'we are man utd and we deserve everything and you should just lie down and let us take it'. And that was the attitude of their fans for decades. I'd love to see them fall away into insignificance and see just how big a club they really are. -

All the “ya das” in the tory party like that she has a massive turd cutter.

Agree it won’t be easy. It’s a much tougher task than Man U - they have some dangerous players up front and Wharton in midfield, who looks the part. We could do with an early goal or them getting someone sent off in the first half to settle us down. It’s the sort of game where the crowd could get nervous but I’m hoping the midweek factor, under the lights with more time for pre match beers, will offset that. I was listening to one of the podcasts earlier and someone mentioned our Wednesday night game record: we’ve won five and drawn one of our last six

As you can probably imagine, the same is true for losing entries in 1970s Yugoslav Eurovision preselections. :D I'd probably struggle to leave Spotify behind, familiarity and all that. We've had a YouTube Premium trial for the last month and not being interrupted by ads is very nice though...

That's a good point actually, I can think of one or two songs I've tried to find on Spotify that just weren't there but were on YouTube.

It might sound daft but their crest looked far better then than it does now, it's not just the deletion of 'football club' on it but the one now seems almost cartoonish. -
YouTube music has loads of obscure dance stuff from years back. Not available to stream on the likes of Apple. If that’s your thing it’s something to consider. Presumably because the label has folded so no one owns the rights and/or any existing copies aren’t high enough quality. So it’s just stuff where people have uploaded a recording of their vinyl copy or whatever

They were big enough in 1990 to have their own computer game. You didn't get that with Jim Smith's Mags. -
How the fuck that thought vacuum ever became prime minister is beyond me The only reasonable explanation I can think of is that she has a snapper like a horse’s mouth eating sugar

Hmmmmm I may look into this.

Do the kids watch YouTube? See if you can't persuade them that the trade off of ad free YouTube makes it worth it. Then you can all gang up on your wife if she's not arsed about YouTube.
-
Aye it basically does everything Spotify does. I've been using it for years now so couldn't speak to how much better/worse it is than Spotify. There's services you can use to convert all your Spotify playlists over to YT music in seconds. Although obviously YouTube has all its own curated playlists plus the user versions.
-
We've got family Spotify and I'm not even going to attempt to persuade the wife and daughters to swap it for YouTube. (I presume you can download playlists for offline?)
-
I presume they make more money off adverts. But either way you’d think they’d get easily more than double the subscribers if they charged half the price
-
If you pay for any music subscription service, you can swap it out for YouTube Music. So you're getting ad-free YouTube plus YouTube Music. I pay 20 a month for a family subscription so the missus gets both as well. Obviously any kids could have the same.
-
You get YT music as well which makes it worth while if you can cancel Spotify or whatever. The interface isn't as good as Spotify but it excels in live music. Well worth it imo.

He’s had a great career at Newcastle and can be proud that he’s been so involved in the squad for so long after the takeover given his technical levels aren’t as high as a lot of the new additions - he was still keeping Sandro out of the team at times earlier this season, which is remarkable really and a testament to the work Sean gets through on the pitch. There were times in the past few seasons where we just looked better with Sean in the side, despite there seemingly being better options on the bench. You can’t question his attitude and I wouldn’t object to him staying on as 5th/6th choice CM. But Sean may prefer to play first team football at this stage of his career and you’d imagine there would be plenty of suitors in the PL or abroad. We should also be able to get £20-30m of pure profit for a peak age English CM with PL and CL experience.

I've seen a bit of that before. I was also thinking of a subscription but they're absolutely taking the piss with the price of it.

I’ve gone down a rabbit hole (to the extent I might buy a YouTube subscription, to avoid those pesky adverts) in watching BBC Archive. I think there’s some of it but only a little bit on iPlayer. But there’s fucking weeks’ worth of clips (and whole programmes) on YouTube. This is an incredible interview btw:
