  1. Past hour
  2. At this crucial stage of the season when points are more important than performance I’d take a 1-0 win with winning goal coming off Dan Burns knob
  3. Yeah. The players want to play in the CL at the end of the day so that’s the aim. Isak deserves to be in it.
  4. Mr Mrs (NHS nurse and used to work in female shelter) and elder child had a big, heated argument around this topic last week. This then went slightly off piste but the Mrs was suggesting as a health professional it’s gone a bit too far (she has to use the word “chest feeding” now rather than breast feeding). She also needs to know when treating someone what their original gender is. The female shelter came up as well, with most the women in there being traumatised from males. its a tricky topic to be sure.
  5. Agreed but the status and money of being involved in the CL outweighs the improved chance of winning the thing unfortunately.
  6. CL is massive because of the money and what it means for our prospects of signing/keeping talent. Europa or ECL are big because they're winnable, just look at Spurs and Man U this season, 14th and 16th in the league and in the semi finals of the Europa league. West Ham were a one man team that nearly got relegated in the season they won the ECL. Only getting ECL at this point would be a ridiculous let down but it'd still be a laugh next season.
  7. Was just looking into this madness. https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/0297-1d507af6baee-09bbe917ddd3-1000--what-happens-if-the-uefa-champions-league-winners-have-also-/
  8. CL is great ‘n all that but I judging by the shite in the Europa league I think we’d be have a good chance of winning that if we slipped into it.
  9. Genuine question- a post-op trans man, can they pee out of it? Also, I’d say that grasping the Etiquette of Urinal Use and Placement of Self Therein would be much harder for a trans man than which cubicle to use for a trans woman.
  10. It’s fucking magic to be having these conversations at this stage of the season
  11. Brighton feels like a big game. Our record at their place isn’t great. We should beat Ipswich and I fancy us against Chelsea at home but they will be up for it if we lose to Brighton as it’ll be their last chance to claw back some ground.
  12. As I sort of said above I think they almost need to move on from the "What is a woman? " question to "What is a transexual?" as it seems to me that nearly everyone involved seems to think or imply that all trans women are pre-ops with penises. I still don't think it's right to force post-ops to use mens facilities or vice versa though I think there are a lot fewer trans men. I can't help feeling there'll be no sympathy if/when a trans woman is assaulted.
  13. Last night's results have pretty much killed off Villa's chances. I reckon Chelsea's chances will likely be done before we face them a fortnight on Saturday. I can't see Liverpool wanting to do anything but put on a show the week before. It's us, Man City & Forest for the remaining CL places. Which order we finish in is up for debate.
  14. Today
  15. So, i'm guessing they're ok with the 3 in 4 sex crimes being committed by British Nationals?
  16. there are still chats between fan groups and club. some success but still some way to go. it's slow and the fan groups might not get fully what they want but so long as there is dialog. more protests to come i'm sure. i don't have a personal issue with ticketing as i get my 6 (+2 for kids) without much difficulty. works for me. unpopular but i don't have a big problem with £71. it's steep but i reckon PL games are probably worth £100+ when you look at american sports. when i booked my 6+2 tickets at the start of the season the most i paid was £58 so not sure why they're £71.
  17. Steve Bruce would blame all the cardinals and hold out for being sacked.
  18. Aye fucking great idea. Next thing you know fish will have charts showing xR by forrins that only he can decipher.
  19. I'm sorry but there's only room for one Irish Newcastle supporting printer on this board. So I guess this is goodbye from me.
  20. I assumed you'd been standing in women's bogs, clipboard in hand, trousers round ankles.
  21. Answering my own question. In 1292, after a conclave lasting two years without choosing a pope, a Benedictine hermit called Pietro de Morrone sent a letter saying if a pope was not chosen quickly, divine retribution would fall on them. The leader of the Conclave immediately declared Pietro as the Pope, and the conclave ratified the choice with no exceptions. Upon being told of his new job, Pietro ran away and hid, refusing to take up his new role. Eventually he was persuaded to accept and became Clementine V , and his first and only papal decree, immediately upon taking up the role, was to introduce the right of resignation for popes. As soon as the decree was passed, he resigned
