What do Chelsea get for winning the Conference League btw? Is that Europa League qualification? I assume they don't get into the CL?

Aye I went to bed before it finished, safe in the knowledge that ewerk had announced that they'd blown it. Wake up this morning to comparisons of 1999 all over the place. I mean you were 2 nil up, got pegged back, went down 4-2, and needed your opponents to go down to 10 men to win it. Unquestionably an exciting finish, but that 99 team would NEVER have been such a collection of fuckups to put themselves in that position against that opposition. I really hope they don't win it cos they absolutely don't deserve CL. I'd rather Spurs win it than them, but I'd rather anyone else than the pair of them.

Enrique was class, super acceleration too so pretty much never got out-paced. He was high level sprinter in his youth. He absolutely took the piss out of attackers in the championship and then carried that belief into the Premier League when we were promoted. He very seldom turned the ball over, even under high presses and had a quality long pass. You're right that he did have a great partnership and understanding with Jonas. He was voted the player of the season in the championship. As a left back that's an incredible achievement. The timing of us selling him seemed ordinary at the time but we absolutely got his best years here as his hamstring/knee issues plagued him through his time at Liverpool. He was class for us.

The piss poor quality of the Europa league semi finalists is purely down to the comparatively piss poor teams that UEFA have allowed into the expanded champions league
